Travelling natures est un projet pluridisciplinaire lié aux représentations du territoire et des communautés qui y vivent. L’exposition réunit un ensemble d’œuvres conçues lors de plusieurs résidences menées en France et en Indonésie de 2012 à 2015 par les deux artistes du collectif Ding, Lyn Nékorimaté et Jean-Paul Labro.
De l’île de Java, en passant par Labège en banlieue toulousaine et Saint-Denis, ce projet nomade inclut une démarche prospective auprès des populations locales et invite parfois les participants à s’engager en tant que sujets pour dessiner un portrait collectif. En s’attachant plus particulièrement à l’explo- ration de l’imaginaire, du rêve et des constructions symboliques des populations, Travelling natures dépasse les frontières pour nous offrir une vision du monde sensible et poétique. Conçue comme une déambulation entre installation sonore et propositions vidéos, l’exposition offre au spectateur un voyage sensoriel qui vient confronter son propre imaginaire aux récits relatés. Issus des univers de la vidéo, de la musique et de la performance, les deux artistes Lyn Nekorimaté et Jean-Paul Labro se sont entourés sur ce projet innovant de Benoît Courribet, musicien et chercheur au CICM et Manuel Deneu, musicien et programmateur.

EDITORIAL

Travelling natures is a multidisciplinary project related to representations of the territory and the communities who live there. The exhibition brings together a collection of works designed in several homes conducted in France and in Indonesia from 2012 to 2015 by the two artists Ding collective Nékorimaté Lyn and Jean-Paul Labro.
From the island of Java, through the suburbs of Toulouse and Labège in Saint-Denis, this roaming project includes a prospective approach with local populations and sometimes invites participants to engage as subjects to draw a collective portrait. With special emphasis on the exploration of the imagination, dreams and symbolic structures of populations, Travelling Natures beyond borders to provide us with a sensitive and poetic vision of the world. Designed as a stroll between sound installation and video proposals, the exhibition offers the viewer a sensory journey that comes to confront his own imaginary stories recounted. From the world of video, music and performance, both artists Lyn Nekorimaté and Jean-Paul Labro are surrounded on this innovative project with Benoit Courribet, musician and researcher at the CICM and Deneu Manuel, musician and programmer.
